Padilla Cigars in three blends. Called Padilla Finest Hour, the cigar is a reference to Winston Churchill’s famous “This was their finest hour” speech, delivered in 1940 at a particularly low point during World War II, when the British stood alone against the Nazi war machine.
“I want the focus to be on the cigar,” he told Cigar Aficionado, emphasizing the concept of the brand.
“This ‘finest hour’ speech is probably Churchill’s most famous because his back was against the wall. The whole country and Western civilization, as he put it,” Padilla said. “For me, that is what the Finest Hour represents. We all have had our worst and finest hours. And to me, that is what cigars are about, the moment you take a break or celebrate your son’s birth, or marriage, or even winning a war.”
